Newbie question : Why so hard to find Complete Guide?

Was it a very limited edition? Seems extremely hard to find and when I find it has a very high price... just wondering.

Unfortunately for us anglophone Asterix fans he has never been as popular in the English speaking world as he is in many other counties. As a consequence ANY item beyond the 33 main volumes is rather rare - and generally has a very limited printing. As well, I don't think the Complete Guide has been reprinted in any languages since its initial run (it's a bit dated now since a number of volumes have come out since so that's unlikely to change). Being in the US doesn't help either with Asterix virtually unknown there - nearly any volume is either rare or an import...
