1978 blue Asterix figurines - anyone ever see these before?
Has anyone seen these before? I found them in an antique shop. Does anyone have any idea what they could be worth?

Hi there, sorry i dont know the worth of your goods, but as a fellow collector can i ask where did you find them, and how much? i been looking all over for asterix collectables in the uk (mostly northern uk). i cant find a uk distributor of Asterix figurines, or a seller of first edition hardback Asterix books in English and French.

I spent $50 dollars on them each (I bought a few of them). I found them in a shop in New York City that specializes in vintage collectables. I asked the guy working there where did he find them. He told me he got them from a Spanish guy who somehow buys toys directly from the toy factories around Europe. As a Asterix/Tintin/Lucky Luke collector myself, I've never seen them before and I like them! I love the packaging. I was trying to figure out who are in the packages - Obelix, Panacea, Vitalstatistix & shield carriers, the druid, and some other random Roman-looking fellows. There aren't too many with Asterixs in them, so I guess his bags are rarer.mikegaul hat geschrieben:Hi there, sorry i dont know the worth of your goods, but as a fellow collector can i ask where did you find them, and how much? i been looking all over for asterix collectables in the uk (mostly northern uk). i cant find a uk distributor of Asterix figurines, or a seller of first edition hardback Asterix books in English and French.
Interested in buying one?
Mike, you are closer to France and Belgium - you are luckier. It's almost impossible to find anything here in USA even when I use European Ebay, because most Europeans don't use PayPal or don't ship to the USA. Every cool Asterix/Tintin/Lucky Luke collectable that I find online, the owner doesn't ship to the USA.

Hi,
in the german section you can see the different figurines of this series:

The Price you paid for them is in my opinion too high, normally these bags should not cost more than 10,- €, sometimes you get them cheaper,
kind regards
Gregor

Awesome! Thanks for the info! Well, I'm not surprised with the price. In the USA, Asterix/Tintin collectables usually tend to be quadruple the cost of what they would cost in Europe.Maulaf hat geschrieben:Hi,

Maulaf, what else do you know about these figures? Are some colors rarer? Aren't the ones I have rare because they are still in the packaged bags? I see that they are on Germany Ebay, but I don't see any in original packaging. Can you sum up anything else you know about these figurines? Thanks!!!
Re: 1978 blue Asterix figurines - anyone ever see these before?
hi again there in the usa. i find it difficult enough to find Asterix in the uk,the reprint of the books can be found, but try looking for first edition books, or the figurines....then its a different story! its frustrating because i can find crap like Ben 10 or Buffy (not that i was looking for them in the first place) in Forbidden planet, but owing to the fact that they are supposed to specialise in international graphic novels,i find this deeply upseting, being a fan of Asterix, one of the best comic strips ever, way up there with Watchmen etc! i'm looking to find a supplier/distributor of the Plas toy figures in the uk to no avail. Do you have any idea where i can buy them wholesale? as to buying your Blue figures, what price you asking?asy other items of interest? my mind is a blur at the moment looking at the vast amount of products that are out there. keep in touch

I can understand how frustrating it is, especially since you are so close to France or Belgium. One would think that it would be easy to find Asterix collectables in England, but I guess not so.mikegaul hat geschrieben:hi again there in the usa. i find it difficult enough to find Asterix in the uk,the reprint of the books can be found, but try looking for first edition books, or the figurines....then its a different story! its frustrating because i can find crap like Ben 10 or Buffy (not that i was looking for them in the first place) in Forbidden planet, but owing to the fact that they are supposed to specialise in international graphic novels,i find this deeply upseting, being a fan of Asterix, one of the best comic strips ever, way up there with Watchmen etc! i'm looking to find a supplier/distributor of the Plas toy figures in the uk to no avail. Don't get me started with Plas toy figures, Lansay toys, etc. It's just crazy how impossible it is to buy even new Asterix/Tintin/Lucky Luke toys online. Like I said before, if I find a place that sells any of them online, they don't ship to the USA. It drives me nuts.
Forbidden Planet used to be a great store, now not so anymore. The one that I go to in NYC used to be amazing when I was a kid, but now it's like any other comic book store, and they don't have any discounts nor cool collectables anymore.
The only stuff that I'm really looking for are the figurines (3 plastic ones or 3 statuettes) from The Mysterious Cities of Gold cartoon - do you know where I can find those?
Email me at toddly@hotmail.com with a price that you would consider paying for one of these blue Asterix bags.
It's funny you mentioned Watchmen and Asterix because I just noticed now that my Asterix and Watchmen figurines are close to each other in my toy display. Here are photos of my toy collection if you are curious. I have a lot more stuff in boxes, but these pieces are my favorite. Basically pics of my favorite comics/cartoons/movies -Hayoa Miyazaki, Tintin, Lucky Luke, Asterix, Kirikou, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Future Boy Conan, Astro Boy, Barbapapa:

i can make a short summary of some facts you can find in the german section:
There are 3 different series of these so called bubble-gum figurines:
Serie 1 is the oldest, in France known as dupont d'Isigny figurines, in Germany they were commercialized by Wikö or Americana, in other countries like the netherlands or spain they were distributed by Americana, too.

There are two different Dargaud inscriptions in this serie, a small and a broad one, and some of the figurines exist with the inscription © UDERZO-80 in two other versions.
The second series has a sign under the feet called Tito, which was the producer and was published in some european countries, most of them in France:
http://www.comedix.de/medien/figuren/as ... erie_2.php
The series has the inscription © DARGAUD but there are many others, for example those in the bag you mentioned have the inscription © UDERZO, others have © UDERZO-80 or extra inscriptions like MOTTA, GF, LEVER or ORTIZ.
The last series is a so called pirate serie, it has no inscription on it:
http://www.comedix.de/medien/figuren/as ... erie_3.php
You can find pictures of all figurines of the different series if you click on "Figurenübersicht" at these pages.
And there exist some figurines which are made like bubble-gum rings, i add a picture of some of them,
kind regards
Gregor

This bag with blue Asterix figures is a big FAKE, those figures are from 90´s not 1978 not 36 figures and not made in Hong Kong (were made in Spain). This bag was made by a spanish seller who bought all the figures in a closed farm. He did make the bag so he can sell the figures easily. The cardboard is from a french stickers collection.
My english isn´t very well, I hope you understand me.
