It seems that official Asterix publisher Albert-René now is represented on Facebook. Perhaps I should say Trombinoscope, as most messages seem in French.

Also present on twitter! It seems these modern social media have taken the place of the old blog.

Most important message these days: "Le 35e album d'Astérix sortira officiellement le 24 octobre 2013 !".
October 24th the new album will appear. Officially.

And, to stay in style with the modern choice of media, Albert René has posted a video on Youtube. The new artists of Asterix tell about the way they work. Don't expect any revelations about the story, though!

It seems the online presence of Asterix and Obelix is expanding. You can now even start dating with the help of Obelix.

Today, via the same modern media, the title of the 35th album has been reveiled: Astérix chez les Pictes

That means we are ready for a travel adventure again. The Picts are an old Celtic tribe living in nortern Scotland!

The marketing of Asterix this time is via all the internet media. Announncements via twitter and facebook. Sets of book-covers (in many languages) via pinterest. Interesting!

Now first time ever. An official electronic edition of Asterix the Gaul (in French), Available at least in Kindle and Ipad formats. I understand that the first 11 volumes are to be published in electronic edition.

Mr Yves-Ferri said:

It takes the Gauls into the heart of Scotland, where they meet warriors and ancient clans, discover whisky, bagpipes, the origins of Hadrian's Wall and the location of the Loch Ness Monster.

Mr Yves-Ferri said there was an allusion to the independence referendum debate, showing all the clans divided and uniting.
